ABOUT SPORTING WESTON
Sporting Weston F.C. is a very popular adult and youth football club based in Weston-super-Mare (Kewstoke and Cleeve) with very strong links to the local community. Many club members are employed by local businesses, local authorities & charities.
The football club was inaugurated in in 1998 in the Weston Sunday League as a way for a group of friends to play football together. Two of these friends are still at the club – First Team Manager Adam Palmer & Secretary & player Gary Booth.
WHY CHOOSE SPORTING WESTON?
Determination & subsequent on-field success has seen the team progress from a Sunday league team, to now having five adult teams; a 1st team, a reserve Team, a Colts team, a woman’s team (the Vixens) and, a veterans over 35 teams. The 1st team compete in the Somerset County League. The Reserves and Colts are competing in Weston & District League. The Vixens play in the Somerset County Women’s League and, the veterans team plays in the Somerset FA Legends League.
WE ARE GROWING
In 2022 the club welcomed a new youth football club starting with 2 age groups, but quickly growing to cover all youth football age groups – with 10 age groups represented, and over 20 teams playing in league games. Including a dedicated junior girls team.
2023 saw the addition of an adult ladies football team, The Sporting Vixens.
We are very proud of our achievements & the hard work of a lot of people connected to the club which has led to our on-field success for all our teams.

Every Sporting Weston coach across all age groups is required to be qualified to a minimum standard:
- DBS checked
- FA Playmaker
- First Aid
- Safeguarding for all
- Concussion training
STATEMENT FROM THE CLUB CHAIRMAN
Firstly, I’d like to extend a very warm welcome to all visitors to Sporting Weston F.C website.
Since moving to Weston Super-Mare with my family, and the need to find a football club for my 3 sons, I can truly say, that I was and continue to be delighted that we found Sporting Weston F.C.
The welcome my sons received, from not only the coaches and managers, but all of the players too, was refreshing and what makes and continues to make Sporting Weston a truly unique football club.
It’s been a pleasure to see the football club grow and gain success in both league and cup competitions. The style and brand of football has been a huge factor in this, and the quality of both the players and football played continues to develop each season.
The club have added new teams to our club, we look to the future and develop these young players who will be able to progress through the club and build long term friendships with each other.
Our club welcomes all players of all abilities, as it’s our belief that everyone should be able to participate in football and be able to train and play in a safe and fun environment, and whether we win, lose or draw, it’s about the team and having fun.
